Carlton City Hotel Singapore- Full review

Over the last weekend, SQ and I had a 2-night staycation at Carlton City Hotel Singapore. The hotel is a convenient 5 minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station and super accessible to places like Chinatown and Raffles Place.

We checked into the Carlton Club room. The Carlton Club room is spacious and bright. I love the view offered from our room! From our room on the 26th floor, we had a bird’s eye view of the shophouses along Tanjong Pagar road. We could even see the Buddha tooth relic temple from our window. By the way, the club room we were in was super Instagrammable.

Personally, I think the bathroom is #goals. Absolutely love the marbled interiors. Amenities such as soaps, toothbrushes and toothpastes are all provided for, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to bring your toothbrush along during your stay.

One of the perks of staying in the club room was having complimentary minibar that was replenished everyday! Our room also came equipped with a coffee machine-  perfect for SQ.

If you’re a tourist in Singapore, you should know that the hotel allows its guest to make use of the Handy phone in every room. You get unlimited 4G data as well as local calls! The app in the phone also provides recommendations to places to eat or visit! We found the tooth relic temple with the help of this phone.

In the evening, staying in the club room entitled SQ and I to complimentary cocktails and light snacks from the club lounge. There was a selection of sushi and finger foods to go with our complimentary cocktail. Should you prefer not to have alcohol, there were also soft drinks, tea and coffee. The bacon and sausage roll offered that evening was really good.

The Club Lounge was my favourite hang out spot at the hotel. Take a look at the lush aesthetics!

Should you feel peckish after hours, there is a 24hr supermarket (NTUC FairPrice) and a 7/11 situated right next to the hotel. There are also many Korean bars and food places open till late on Fridays and Weekends near the hotel! SQ and I had really good Ja Jiang Mian (Black bean noodles) from a Korean restaurant 10 minutes walk from the hotel for supper on one of the nights.

By the way, if you’re a business traveller or someone who prefers to travel light, you should know that staying in the club room entitles you to 2 pieces of free laundry for every night you stay with Carlton City! We sent our dirty linen for laundry before 11am and got them back before 4pm the same day.

For breakfast, we could opt to eat at the Plate, or at the club lounge. We ate at both places on each morning of our stay. Here is the difference. Eating at the Plate meant that there were more variety of foods to choose from. Eating at the club lounge meant slightly less variety to choose from, but we got to enjoy a quiet morning. The herb baked tomato you see in the picture below is really delicious.

The last morning, we were allowed to check out late at 3pm! We made use of the time to explore some of the hotel’s facilities.

Overall, SQ and I had a great and relaxing time at Carlton City Hotel Singapore. We definitely recommend upgrading your room to a club room to be able to enjoy those perks that I mentioned earlier!

Before I end this post, here is the bubble bath we made using the soap provided by the hotel.
